Oh yes, of course you want to hack servers...

Raw access to a webserver

First start a telnet client like Putty.

• Enter the host name, eg. "www.owl.homeip.net", and the server port "80".
• Select connection type (o) Raw.
• Select the window to close (o) Never.
• click on [ Open ].

Now a terminal window opens, which is connected to the host. To get a webpage you have to send a valid HTTP command, which the webserver on the host is able to understand.

Her are some sample commands you may enter:

• GET /
  to get the start HTML page of the host.
• GET /examples/hexdump/rapunzel.txt
  to get a plain text page.
• GET /start/edu/inf/networks/internet/rawtest.php?Your Name
  just for fun.

Maybe you have to press [ Enter ] twice to send the command.

A closed session you can restart in the context menu.
